That's exciting that Jonny is engaged. I am glad that he is super happy. And I would like to see pictures! Am I going to get to be a cardboard cutout groomsmen?
Also how is Union lacrosse doing?
I have been transferred to Johnstown, Ohio. I am in the New Albany 2nd Ward. My companion is Elder Madsen and he is from Preston, Idaho. This is his first transfer after being trained so I am "greenie breaking" him. Me and him are extremely similar. It's actually really funny. He made a "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared" reference (Jonny and Teilani will know what that is) and a "Homestar Runner" reference (Harrison, Zach and Jonny will know what that is) and we were both like "you are the first person on the mission that has understood that!" It was hilarious. His trainer was Elder Oetli who I was in the MTC with and we know each other pretty well. He is a huge Utah fan so when he moved out of the apartment he put 2 Utah posters right above my bed. He thought that was pretty funny. And he's right, it is pretty funny haha.
So for my week! Thursday was my last day on campus. Pretty sad but it was good. We took new missionaries out. I took Elder Green out for his first contact. He did such a great job. He is so cool. He is from a town near Boise and he told me that one of his best friends played lacrosse and it turns out that I played his friend's team last year in Boise! It was Mountain View from Idaho. The last team we played that totally destroyed us. So that was pretty funny! Then we said goodbye to Kyle (the investigator that is currently reading the entire Book of Mormon and asked us thread the entire new testament.) He is such a great guy. Then we had transfers! I'm not gonna lie, it was extremely hard saying goodbye to Elder Morse. I love that guy. But Elder Madsen is super great! We had a really good lesson that evening with a family that lived in our apartment complex. They are moving out of our area though so we will refer them to other missionaries. They are really awesome though.
Friday we did service at this awesome thrift store that donates all of their profits to the community. It was a lot of fun. Then we went tracting. The first time I have knocked on doors in 3 months... that was fun. So weird haha. We had weekly planning which is always fun and then we had a good lesson that evening!
Saturday we knocked on doors for most of the day. It was a blast. We talked to this one guy for awhile that is from Macedonia. He has a hard time reading English so we are going to bring him a Croatian Book of Mormon because that's easier for him to read.
Sunday was great! I already love this ward. It was crazy meeting Sister Moarefdoust. She knows every one that I know. She said that she went to high school with Brother Sork! That was crazy. It's such a small world. We are eating dinner with them on Friday. The rest ofnthe day was good as well!
Monday was a wild day! We definitely saw miracles. Neither of us really felt very good that morning but we kept on going. We did service at a food pantry and that was fun. And then we went tracting but the real miracle was our lesson that evening. It was with this guy named Herb. He is one of the coolest guys that I have ever seen and he is totally searching for truth. He told us that he just doesn't feel like the other churches are complete but he hopes that the Book of Mormon connects it all and then we were able to testify that we have a Prophet on the earth and we invited him to general conference coming up and he was so excited. He said that he thinks that if he gets to hear the prophet he will be able to tell if it is true. And he is exactly right. I know that he will gain a testimony during general conference. And then later that night we got a referral from a member!
Tuesday was a good day too! We had a good lesson that morning and then did service at the thrift store again. We visited the referral that we got from the member and he was super cool and gave us a carton of duck eggs so that was cool.
I am loving it here in Johnstown. It is always a party in Johnstown!
I love you mom! Thank you for everything!
Your son,
Elder Collier
